Herbaceous border

We hold a number of events throughout the year designed to entertain and inspire group visitors – such as autumn tours of our beautiful botanic gardens, and guided history walks. We have excellent facilities, a restaurant and plenty of open space and benches to relax on. To help you plan your visit, book in for a free familiarisation visit.

School trips with education sessions
To book a school trip with an education session, or to find out more about your school trip options, please call us on 0117 974 7369 or email or visit our education sessions page. Education sessions cost an additional £40.00 per class.

Guided tours for groups

Why not book a group in for a guided 'walk and talk' on one of the following subjects:

  • Conservation and endangered species
  • History of Bristol Zoo Gardens - from Brunel to biodiversity
  • The role of the modern zoo

We limit these sessions to 20 and they are particularly suited to people aged 16 and above. They are usually available Monday to Friday.

Group Organiser Info

  • One adult is admitted free with every 3 paying 2-5 year olds (school groups only).
  • One adult is admitted free with every 7 paying 6-14 (school groups only).
  • Free pre-visit for the group organiser. Please phone the Zoo to find out if you are eligible for a free pre-visit.
  • For safety, please label small children. Enquiries about lost children should be made at the first aid post, at the Central Office in the middle of the Zoo or with a cashier.
  • No advance payment is required. Visa/Mastercard/Switch/Delta or cheque accepted on the day.
  • One person should be responsible for the group's entrance fee.
  • Please make cheques payable to ‘Bristol Zoo Gardens’, writing your treasurer’s name and address on the reverse. If it is a personal cheque, please bring your cheque card.
