Enjoy an amazing world of animals, all within all within our spectacular, award-winning, 12-acre gardens. With over 400 species – including nine animal houses under cover – you can make the most of your visit, whatever the weather. And with so much to see and do, it’s worth giving yourself at least two to five hours here to fully make the most of your trip to one of the top attractions in Bristol and the South West. 

Plus from 23 March until 8 September, dinosaurs will be coming back from extinction as 13 animatronic dinosaurs stomp, hiss and wing their way into Bristol Zoo as part of DinoZoo2. This is all free with standard Bristol Zoo admission, which can be purchased online for a 10% discount.

When you visit Bristol Zoo, you’re also helping to conserve and protect endangered species and habitats. Our admission prices include a 10% voluntary donation, which we use to support our conservation projects.

Opening hours

We’re open every day from 9am-5.30pm in peak season (from 23 March 2013), and close at 5pm during off peak (from 1 November 2013). The Zoo is closed on Christmas Day. Last entry to the Zoo is an hour before closing time and animal houses close half an hour before closing time.

• Open daily from 9am to 5.30pm in peak season from 23 March 2013, closing at 5.00pm off-peak (as of 1 November 2013).
• Closed Christmas Day.
• Last entrance to animal houses is half an hour before closing.
• Last entrance to the Zoo is an hour before closing.

• New Coral restaurant open from 9am to 4.30pm daily. Lunch served 11.45 to 2.30 daily.

• We do not allow dogs into the Zoo but we do have 2 kennels located in the College road car park which provide temporary accommodation for Assistance Dogs while their owners visit the Zoo. For more information on this visit our accessibility page.

• We do not allow scooters, skateboards, bicycles, ball games, roller skates or barbecues on site
• Please note that our membership office is open daily from 9am-4:30pm.
• The Zoo reception is open daily from 9am-5pm.
